Common questions
What do I need to use Cmd+F?
An iPhone or iPad running iOS 27 or later, with a camera. Related words also need Apple Intelligence to be available and turned on.
How do I search for several things at once?
Separate them with commas, like “milk, eggs, bread”. Spaces stay part of a search, so phrases like “olive oil” work as one.
Why isn’t Cmd+F finding small or distant text?
Pinch to zoom in, or move closer. Text that’s large enough to read comfortably on screen is found most reliably. Good light and holding the camera steady help too.
Why are some highlights blue?
With related words turned on, blue highlights are words related to your search, like “espresso” for “coffee”. Yellow highlights match what you typed.
Why can’t I turn on related words?
Related words use Apple Intelligence, so they need a device that supports it, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. They also apply to one search at a time, so they pause while you’re searching for several words separated by commas.
How do I save a search?
Tap the bookmark in the search field. Saved searches appear above the search field when it’s empty, and you can edit or delete them in Settings.
What does Cmd+F Plus include?
Cmd+F Plus is a one-time purchase that unlocks searching for several words at once, saved searches, and related words. Live search for any single word or phrase is free.
I bought Cmd+F Plus, but it’s locked on a new device.
Open Settings (the gear button) and tap Restore Purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought it with.
Can I open Cmd+F from Control Center?
Yes. Open Control Center, tap and hold an empty spot, choose Add a Control, and search for Cmd+F. You can also add a Cmd+F widget to your Home Screen.
